The University United Festival was born out of a desire to bring the community together and provide resources to the University District back in 2014 when University District Council Member Rasheed N.C. Wyatt took office in the Buffalo Common Council representing the University District. It was then that he realized the residents deserved a local festival that would take place in their own backyard.
He wanted a festival that would be free to attend, so that families could bring their loved ones without worrying about the cost of admission. And he wanted a festival that would feature live music, delicious food, and family-friendly activities.
The University United Festival Committee was created with the goal of making these dreams a reality. We want everyone in the University District, from University Heights to Shoshone to Bailey, to come together as a community, build connections with others in the district, and enjoy entertainment, delicious food and family-friendly activities.
The festival has also been an excellent opportunity for residents to interact with Block Clubs and community-owned businesses from Buffalo, allowing them to build stronger connections with their neighbors.
We are proud of the University United Festival and want to continue the tradition for years to come. We believe that it's essential to keep our community united, strong, and vibrant. Thank you for your continued support, and please don't hesitate to contact us for more information on our festival.
We are thrilled to announce that the University United Festival is back again this year, and we can't wait for all of you to join us in this celebration of unity and community! After the success of last year's festival, which drew 23,000 people from across the district, city, region, and state, we're excited to build upon that momentum and make this year's event even better.
We are working tirelessly to secure more resources and activities for all of you to enjoy, and we're confident that this year's festival will be one to remember. From live music performances to food vendors, the Kids Zone, and more, there's something for everyone at the University United Festival.
One of the highlights of this year's festival will be the return of the parade along Bailey Avenue, which will kick off the weekend with a bang. We can't wait to see all of you come out and join us for this incredible event, and we hope that you'll invite your friends and family to join in on the fun too.
So mark your calendars and get ready for a weekend full of excitement and celebration. We'll see you at the University United Festival 2023!
Sincerely,
